A powerful rainstorm swept through the Bankamba community in Kpandai District, Northern Region, causing severe destruction. The storm, which lasted for an hour, brought down power lines, tore off roofs, and left over 100 homes in ruins, including a school.
The affected communities—Binagmamdo, Chakori, and Kumbi—are now in darkness due to damaged electricity infrastructure. Farmers, already struggling with drought, lost key crops like maize, groundnuts, soybeans, and Barbara beans, worsening their hardship.
Many residents are left homeless and are appealing for urgent government assistance. Assembly Member Kenneth Kwame Ndignum has called for immediate support to help victims recover from the disaster.
