Two female students from the University of Cape Coast (UCC) have shared their frustration over the intense study culture at the school. In a viral video, the ladies were seen searching for a place to study but found all lecture halls fully occupied. Some students had resorted to sitting on stairs or standing while reading.
Expressing their concerns, the students remarked that UCC’s academic environment felt like a never-ending prep session due to the pressure to study at all times. Disappointed by the lack of seating, they eventually decided to return to their hostel and sleep.
The video sparked mixed reactions online. While some social media users sympathized with the students, others argued that proper time management would solve the issue. Some UCC alumni dismissed the complaints, saying the pressure is exaggerated, and that they had a balanced experience of academics and social life.
This incident highlights the competitive academic environment at UCC, often regarded as one of Ghana’s most intense universities.
