Teen’s Reckless Joyride Ends in Tragedy – Parents Re-Arrested

The state has withdrawn charges against Bishop Elijah Salifu Amoako, his wife Mouha, and sales assistant Linda Bonsu Bempah, who were accused of allowing a minor to drive without a license. However, shortly after their discharge in court, they were re-arrested for further investigations.

The case stems from an October 2024 incident where their 16-year-old son, Elrad Amoako, drove a Jaguar F-Pace SUV without a valid license. He collided with an Acura utility vehicle, causing a fire that tragically claimed the lives of two 12-year-old occupants.

Elrad, who was sentenced to six months at the Senior Correctional Home after pleading guilty to multiple charges, had been given access to the car by Linda during his elder brother’s birthday celebration. Investigations revealed that his parents had previously allowed him to drive within their neighborhood.

The accused, who initially pleaded not guilty, had been on bail before their recent re-arrest. The case continues to unfold as authorities dig deeper into the circumstances leading to the fatal accident.
