Students of Bimbilla Senior High School in the Northern Region are facing a severe water shortage, disrupting their education and daily routines. The crisis has forced them to spend hours searching for water, often missing classes and even risking their lives by crossing busy highways.
Due to the persistent shortage in Nanumba North Municipality, some students go days without bathing, affecting their concentration in class. Despite several attempts to find a permanent solution, including failed borehole drilling, the school remains without a reliable water source.
Senior Housemaster Tanko Awesu has joined students in appealing to the government, philanthropists, and NGOs for urgent assistance. He noted that while the school recently completed a perimeter wall to improve security, the lack of water remains their biggest challenge.
The crisis is not only affecting students but also the larger Bimbilla community, which struggles with access to clean water.
