A raging fire broke out at Suame Magazine in Kumasi, leaving devastation in its wake as 25 shops and 34 vehicles were reduced to ashes. The fire, which erupted around 10 p.m. last Friday, is believed to have started due to an electrical fault in one of the shops.
Despite efforts by the Ghana National Fire Service, many traders lamented the delayed response, arguing that the absence of a nearby fire station worsened the situation. Victims are now counting their losses, with some artisans left without any means of continuing their trade.
The Suame industrial area has seen multiple fire incidents over the years, with traders calling for urgent measures to prevent further disasters.
