Afenyo-Markin Alleges Drone Spying by ORAL Team.

The Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has accused the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) Committee, led by Foreign Affairs Minister-nominee Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, of deploying drones to conduct surveillance on his private properties.

Speaking on JoyNews’ The Probe on Sunday, February 2, 2025, Afenyo-Markin claimed that suspicious drone activity had been reported near his residences in Winneba, Abelenkpe, and other locations. He stated that despite these observations, he chose to remain silent, asserting that he has nothing to hide and that his properties were legally acquired.

The Effutu MP disclosed that before Ablakwa’s vetting on January 31, they had a private discussion, during which he advised him to reconsider some of his approaches. However, he alleged that drone surveillance continued even after their conversation.

Afenyo-Markin further dismissed claims that some of his Winneba properties belonged to the state, describing such allegations as politically motivated falsehoods. He defended his real estate holdings, emphasizing that he had lived in his Abelenkpe residence for over 20 years and acquired his Winneba properties through legitimate business dealings.

The ORAL Committee has yet to respond to these allegations.
