DVLA Unveils High-Security 2025 DV Plates.

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has officially introduced the 2025 DV plates across all its offices in Ghana. These new plates come with enhanced security features, including holograms, watermarks, and QR codes, to prevent counterfeiting and ensure authenticity.

According to DVLA CEO Julius Neequaye Kotey, this update is part of the authority’s efforts to improve vehicle registration through technology. The new plates are now available to vehicle owners, automobile dealers, and other stakeholders nationwide.

The DVLA, in partnership with the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service, has also issued a warning against the illegal production and sale of counterfeit DV plates. Authorities are actively working to track down and prosecute offenders.

DV trade plates are issued to unregistered vehicles that need to be on the road for specific purposes. The DVLA emphasized that these plates are only valid for one year, must not be used on multiple vehicles simultaneously (except in certain cases with trailers), and can only be sold by the DVLA itself.
