UK Woman Jailed for ‘Cyber-Farting’ Harassment.

A 25-year-old UK woman, Rhiannon Evans, has been convicted in what is believed to be the country’s first-ever ‘cyber-farting’ case. Evans was found guilty of harassment after repeatedly sending videos of herself farting to her boyfriend’s ex, Deborah Prytherch, causing distress and anxiety.

The court in Cearnarfon, North Wales, heard that Evans sent multiple videos showing herself passing gas while smirking at the camera. Despite warnings, she continued sending the videos even on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Evans admitted to sending the videos but claimed she was under the influence of alcohol and did not intend to cause harm. The court sentenced her to 15 rehabilitation sessions, 60 days of alcohol abstinence monitoring, and a two-year restraining order. She was also fined £100 in compensation and ordered to pay £199 in legal costs.
