Fire Breaks Out at Kejetia Market, Traders Count Losses.

A fire broke out at the Kejetia Market in Kumasi, causing significant damage to two shops, which primarily sold textiles and fabrics. The fire is believed to have started in a closed shop and spread to a nearby store, destroying valuable goods.

Thanks to the quick response of the Fire Service, more shops were saved from the blaze. Nana Akwasi Prempeh, President of the Federation of Kejetia Traders, acknowledged the swift intervention, noting that security agencies had been on high alert due to earlier intelligence suggesting potential arson attacks on the market.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and traders have been urged to ensure all electrical devices are turned off before leaving their shops. This incident adds to the recent string of fire outbreaks in commercial centers across the country.
