A joyful wedding ceremony turned tragic at Akyem Anamase in the Eastern Region when the groom, Chief Inspector Godwin Beniba, collapsed and passed away moments before his bride arrived. The groom, who was the Station Officer at the Anamase Police Station, complained of dizziness upon entering the venue, and despite being rushed to the Anamase Clinic, he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The heartbreaking incident left guests, including police officers from various regions, in deep sorrow. Prepared food and drinks went unused as attendees left the venue in shock. The deceased’s family has transported the body to the Oda Government Hospital morgue for an autopsy. The community remains in mourning, with festive activities subdued due to the tragedy.
