Daasebre Kwebu-Ewusi VII, the Omanhen of the Abeadze Traditional Area and former Vice President of the National House of Chiefs, recently initiated the construction of an ultramodern Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) center at Abeadze Dominase in the Central Region. This center, to be named the Mansa Musa STEM-Innovation Centre after the legendary Malian emperor, aims to equip youth with essential skills in science and technology, in alignment with the government’s STEM education campaign.

The groundbreaking ceremony took place during the “Gathering of the Central Regional Students, Youth, and Nananom” durbar, which was supported by organizations like the Obokese Foundation and the Ghana Education Service. The event brought together about 1,500 students from 21 schools, some of whom showcased their innovative STEM projects.

The center is intended to inspire and empower the next generation by connecting traditional values with modern educational practices. It’s part of a broader effort to ensure that STEM education reaches every region, including the Central Region, which had not previously benefited from the first round of STEM school constructions.
This initiative highlights the significance of combining traditional wisdom with contemporary educational advancements to prepare the youth for future challenges, both locally and globally.
