Mahama’s Free Tertiary Tuition Policy to Reimburse First-Year Students.
The Education Minister-designate, Haruna Iddrisu, has announced that first-year students who have already paid their tuition fees will receive reimbursements under the government’s free tertiary tuition policy.This policy, a flagship initiative of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), aims to improve access to higher education as part of the 2024 campaign promises.Addressing the Appointments Committee in Parliament on January 20, 2025, Mr. Iddrisu revealed that the policy's implementation would require an estimated ₵345 million.
