Ghana Seeks Malaysian Investment to Boost Palm Oil Production.

Article arrow_drop_down

Ghana is calling on Malaysian investors to partner with local firms to develop the country’s oil palm industry and reduce its reliance on imports. At a recent business forum in Accra, key industry players emphasized the potential for collaboration to speed up Ghana’s self-sufficiency in palm oil production. Despite Ghana’s current annual production of 300,000 tonnes, the demand stands at 450,000 tonnes, creating a deficit of 150,000 tonnes. The government aims to close this gap through the work of the Tree Crops Development Authority (TCDA) and strategic partnerships. By leveraging Malaysia’s expertise in sustainable palm oil production, Ghana hopes to create a thriving industry that can serve the African market.
