Falz Confirms Bobrisky Sought His Help During Naira Abuse Prosecution
Nigerian rapper and activist Falz has revealed that Bobrisky reached out to him for help during her prosecution over the controversial Naira abuse case in 2024.
In a recent interview with Arise TV , Falz confirmed that Bobrisky sent him a direct message on Instagram asking for legal support while facing charges for defacing the Nigerian currency .
“Before that incident or phone call, I never had a relationship [with Bobrisky],” Falz said.
“She messaged me on Instagram saying, ‘I’m in this situation. I want to speak to you about how you can help me.’”
A Routine Act of Kindness
Known for his activism and legal background, Falz explained that he responded to Bobrisky’s request as he would for anyone else in need.
He clarified that his offer to meet was not an endorsement of her actions but a gesture of support:
“Tons and tons of people message me about similar issues. And in all those cases, I ask: What’s the plea? How can I help?”
Despite his good intentions, the encounter later sparked public debate after a leaked audio surfaced online—allegedly featuring Bobrisky claiming she had spoken with both Falz and human rights lawyer Femi Falana while in detention.
Bobrisky quickly dismissed the audio as fake and threatened legal action against VeryDarkMan , who shared the clip.
Public Backlash and Lessons Learned
Although Falz denied any ongoing relationship with Bobrisky, the story drew significant attention from fans and critics alike.
He admitted that the fallout took him by surprise and led to some backlash—but he remains committed to helping others, even if it means facing criticism.
“As they say, once bitten, twice shy,” Falz said.
“But that doesn’t mean I’ll stop helping people. It’s just about being a little more cautious.”
