Seyi Tinubu Reacts to NANS President’s Bribery and Thuggery Claims
Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu, has publicly responded to allegations made against him by Atiku Abubakar Isah , the President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS). Isah had accused Seyi of offering him a N100 million bribe to promote President Tinubu’s administration, which he claims he rejected.
In a press conference on Wednesday, Isah alleged that after rejecting the bribe, he was abducted, stripped naked, beaten, and threatened with violence by individuals allegedly linked to Seyi Tinubu. He claimed that the ordeal occurred in collaboration with the Managing Director of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and other unnamed political figures.
Isah stated, “I was abducted on the 15th of April. I was stripped naked and beaten seriously… They claimed they would share the video. They told me that nothing would happen if they shared the video, and even if they killed me, Seyi Tinubu would order a cover-up.”
He further accused Senator Ladoja of involvement, alleging that Ladoja threatened to instruct the Inspector General of Police to suppress any investigation into the matter.
Seyi Tinubu’s Response: “All Allegations Are Completely Fictional”
Reacting to the allegations via his official Instagram handle on Friday, Seyi Tinubu dismissed the claims as baseless and defamatory.
“Wow.. how can someone lie with so much confidence…?? Wow wow… an attempt to defame my character. May God be with you, Comrade Atiku Isah,” Seyi wrote.
In a follow-up post, he categorically denied all accusations, stating:
“I have never held a meeting to discuss any subject matter with Comrade Isah in Lagos or anywhere else in the world. I have never knowingly met him before. Neither did I visit any location with thugs.”
“All these allegations made by Atiku Isah are completely fictional.”
The Allegations Against Seyi Tinubu
According to Isah, the bribery offer was allegedly made by Seyi Tinubu and Minister Ayodele Olawande to secure his support for promoting President Tinubu’s administration. Isah claimed he rejected the offer due to what he described as the president’s lack of performance.
He also alleged that following his rejection, he faced targeted harassment, including abduction and physical assault. Isah accused Seyi Tinubu and others of orchestrating the attack and attempting to silence him through threats and intimidation.
“I want Nigerians to know what has happened and that we will not give up. Seyi Tinubu can do anything he wants, but we are determined,” Isah declared during his press conference.
