Once-pristine government properties, including the Presidential Lodge and the Regional Minister’s residency in the Ashanti Region, have fallen into disrepair after being unused for eight years under the NPP administration. These facilities, once iconic, now suffer from overgrown weeds, broken ceilings, peeling paint, and damaged security structures.
The NDC Regional Chairman, Augustus Nana Akwasi Andrew, criticized the neglect, recalling how the area was well-maintained under their leadership. Meanwhile, the NDC Regional Secretary, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, called for an investigation into why alternative accommodations were rented for officials while these facilities were abandoned.
